Maria Rodale and “Organic Manifesto” on March 29th
March 18, 2010
On Monday, March 29th, Maria Rodale will lead a forum on “Organic Food: A Manifesto for the World – and the Southside.”
The talk will include a presentation by Maria and discussion about how organic farming and food can be more fully achieved on the Southside specifically, and in Bethlehem and the Lehigh Valley in general. The forum will be held in Room 200, Linderman Library, on Lehigh University’s lower campus. It will run from 11:30 to 1:30, with lunch provided.
Maria will be speaking from her brand new book, Organic Manifesto: How Organic Farming Can Heal Our Planet, Feed the World, and Keep Us Safe (Rodale Books, 2010).
By the end of this week, Organic Manifesto will be on sale at Lehigh’s bookstore for $12, half the current sales price. The South Side Initiative (SSI) is subsidizing the discounted sale of the book, as well as sponsoring Maria Rodale’s visit. The forum will be held in conjunction with SSI’s Southside Community Gardens project.
